Remember Me?

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I last posted!

I have been getting costumes ready for Halloween, planning birthday parties and our home is currently in the middle of major renovations!  On top of that, it’s been the usual busy life of a family of five.  But enough excuses!

Have I been crafting?  Yes, I have!!  I made another tunic top – this time reversible.  Since it was in a Raggedy Ann fabric, I also made a skirt, white apron and a red yarn wig!  My littlest pumpkin is going to be Raggedy Ann for Halloween.  I think she will look so sweet!

I am also making a costume for my oldest.  She is going to be a person in a bubble bath.  Not much to it.  I bought a second-hand baby bath and we are cutting a hole in the bottom of it.  She will wear that with some sort of straps to hold it up.  Then decorate it with pearly balloons and a couple of rubber ducks.  A shower cap on her head and the costume is complete.

I have also been working on the stocking a bit.  Not enough though.  I still have so much to do before December.  I need to find time and energy to get it done soon!

Well, I best be off… life is calling me!

Our family has been so busy lately. We are preparing for renovations in our home and the kids are involved in a lot of activities this year.  It seems that we are always on the go and by the time evening rolls around we are all completely exhausted.  My husband and I have been falling asleep shortly after we get the kids to bed!

Today was another busy day for us.  Fortunately, by late afternoon we finally had a lull.  We all found our own little space to do something quiet and it was really quite peaceful.  I was keeping myself busy, then our oldest daughter came into the room where I was and stopped in front of me.  I looked up to see her wearing a little sign around her neck.  She made it on a piece of tissue.  Are you wondering what it said?

It seems when we were all busying ourselves, she didn’t quite know what to do with herself!  Such a funny girl!  She loves to be on the go all the time.  An endless ball of energy!  We did find something for her to do and she felt much better.  I guess sometimes it can be hard to slow down after such a busy go.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful, relaxing weekend.  And I certainly hope none of you are feeling too bored.

A Sad Day

As one friend is recovering from the surgery that removed thyroid cancer from her body, another friend of mine finds out she has thyroid cancer.

It is so unbelievable that two friends – both young mothers – have had the diagnosis of cancer.  I am in complete shock.

Both of my friends have been incredibly positive and true pillars of strength.

When things like this happen, it makes us look at our life and all the things we have to be thankful for.

I have so much to be thankful for.
